This policy explains how WPGuard handles your information. WPGuard is a service operated by ES Solutions Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (company no. 14911889, registered office 109 Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, W6 8JA). For the purposes of UK data protection law, ES Solutions Ltd is the data controller.

1. Information we collect

• The website address you submit for a scan.
• Your email address, so we can send you your audit report.
• Your IP address, for security, rate-limiting and abuse prevention.
• Scan results - technical information about the website you submit, gathered from publicly available sources (e.g. page speed, security headers, SSL configuration, structured data).
• Engagement data - whether and when you open your report and interact with it, so we can follow up helpfully.

2. How we use your information

• To run the audit you requested and deliver your report.
• To contact you about your results if you ask us to, or to offer help addressing the findings.
• To prevent abuse of the scanner and keep the service secure.
• To improve our service.

3. Legal basis

We process your email on the basis of your consent (given when you request a report) and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service and preventing abuse. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted processors to run the service:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS SES) - to send report and notification emails.
• Google - the PageSpeed Insights API (to measure performance of the website you submit) and Google Analytics (to measure how visitors use this site).
• DigitalOcean - hosting.
• Cloudflare - DNS, security and content delivery.

5. Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects usage data so we can improve the service. We do not use advertising cookies. A session cookie is used only for staff signing in to the WPGuard admin area.

6. Data retention

We keep scan results and lead details for as long as necessary to provide and improve the service and to follow up where appropriate. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see your rights below).

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email ed@wpguard.tech. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
